Holland America includes several Hawaiian stops on longer itineraries, including the 51-day Tales of the South Pacific and the 35-day Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas voyages. Each of those itineraries departs from and returns to San Diego, crosses the Equator and international dateline, and stops in Kiribati and French Polynesia. The thing about Hawaii cruises is that there’s no bad time of year to take one. Thanks to its year-round sunshine and warm weather, Hawaii will be there for you whenever you’re ready to set sail. The cruise features Freestyle cruising, which means that casual attire is appropriate for most of the cruise. If you'd rather dive into a snorkel adventure, two top catamaran excursions are the six-hour Molokini Crater & Turtle Snorkel ($249 per person) or the 8.5-hour Lanai Sail & Snorkel ($229). I did Molokini—an offshore crescent-shaped crater that's home to more than 250 species of tropical fish—on my first visit to Hawaii and enjoyed it. The ship’s plumbing seemed to be an issue occasionally. Sometimes we had issues flushing the toilet and once in the middle of the night, we didn’t have any water at all. Translation services --including the translations of the ship's "Freestyle Daily" schedule -- are available with advance request. Several bars were completely overhauled, private cabanas were added to Deck 14, the suites were refurbished and the spa was upgraded.
For example, there’s a Gold Rush Saloon, decorated in a rustic, old west, 1800s style. It really felt out of place on a ship that only circles the Hawaiian Islands. The ship has two main restaurants, Liberty and Skyline. Liberty is decorated like something out of Washington D.C. Skyline is decorated like something you would see in an art deco style building in New York City.

NCL's Pride of America is absolutely the best way to see Hawaii. Fly in a few days early to get adjusted to the time zone and do some sightseeing. You're in port every day (2 days overnight to partake in evening activities like luaus or early morning activities like a bike ride down a volcano). Norwegian Cruise Line's 7 day Hawaii cruises have about 100 hours of time in port.

And once we reached our destination and were heading back to the states, those were the longest six days of my life. But that’s a circle cruise … I am imagine a one-way and then fly back/there or whatever would be different.
